It was gathered that this happened around 6:44pm along barracks area of Surulere. It has been reported that five people are dead which includes 3 women, 1 man and a baby. Five other people also sustained severe burns but have been rushed to the hospital.
The General Manager, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, Adesina Tiamiyu, said the incident was reported around 6:44pm. He says that the danfo caught fire while descending the bridge inwards Barracks.
He added that they, LASEMA, worked with the Lagos State Fire Service in putting out the fire and rescuing the people.
